If music be the food of love, then Under the Desert Sky is an Italian feast. Andrea Bocelli performs live at the Lake Las Vegas resort for this DVD and bonus CD, featuring some of the world's greatest love songs. In straying from the largely classical repertoire that helped shoot Bocelli to stardom, he is able to take more contemporary material and give it the sheen of timelessness. Most of the selections are in Italian, Spanish, or French--Romance languages, naturally. Highlights include the swoon-inducing "Amapole," the pitch-perfect "Canzoni Stonate," and even a reverent "Can't Help Falling in Love." Through it all, Bocelli's relaxed, self-effacing manner and confident delivery make for an intimate concert experience. Bocelli is also backed by a terrific group of talented musicians, including pianist and executive producer David Foster. A real show-stopper: Bocelli's duet with the Tony-winning Aida singer Heather Headley; the blending of their voices suggests the duets of Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt at their most sublime. There's only one real clunker: "Besame Mucho," which is so innately cheeseball that trying to deliver it sincerely only makes it more cheesy. Included is a CD with nine tracks, including a different version of "Can't Help Falling in Love," with a duet by American Idol's Katherine McPhee, and a soulful "Canzoni Stonate" with Stevie Wonder. Simply beautiful. August 16, 2008
I dont have any other way to express it. Sublime. Not only the selection of songs is amazing, but there is an atmosphere that I just cant remember having felt in any other concert. All this comes from somebody who, even recognizing Andrea is among the top singers in the world, is not a big fan.
The orchestra is magnificent to say the least.
Listening to DVD in DTS is an out of the world experience. Everybody should have a copy.
One of the greatest gifts I ever received August 7, 2008
Listening to Bocelli sing great songs previously performed by other great singers was a pleasurable addition to a wonderful musical concert. There is no need to compare his performance with others, it's simply a different experience of great ageless songs like: can't help falling in love, September Morn, Somos Novios,.....
The most pleasant surprise to me, was hearing Bocelli sing Les Feuilles Mortes in French; one of my favorite childhood songs. I just wish that the great voice who accompanied him was at least credited on the cover.
All in all, a great concert that is worth replaying and treasuring on cold Friday nights.

This Andrea Bocelli DVD/CD set is not only a bargain, but as always a treat to listen to. Incredibly romantic music, filled with emotion and very soothing to the soul and spirit. The setting on the DVD is beautiful; the CD can be taken wherever you go to enjoy over and over.

this cd and dvd is about as good as it gets. the concert was done in las vegas with an awesome set and props. the music is even better. anyone would love this one.
i got the cd quickly and in perfect condition.
