It's not what it seems... February 6, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this DVD last April when it was released in Tokyo (for a considerably higher price). It is not what it seems!
Yes, there is concert footage of Baumann, Froese and Franke playing at the Cathedral, with lots of good shots of their vintage equipment.
However, the soundtrack to the video is, in my mind, *not* the music they were playing. I don't think it's even concert audio, but a montage of tracks from discs of the mid-70s period. I can't remember exactly which discs at this point (maybe another reviewer will have this info)....might be some of the tracks from Ricochet(?), which is a live disc.
At any rate, the DVD with this title that I purchased at Tower Records in Tokyo last year (same title, same cover) wasn't a complete live concert performance, as stated. It was video footage with a musical score that was superimposed from another source. Be forwarned!!!
I give it two stars (simply for the footage of these guys playing with vintage gear), but no more....it's not what it is advertized to be (IMHO) and it's not very long (not even an hour, maybe?)
The only reason I'm reviewing it at all is because Amazon sent me spam on the new release based on its similiarity metrics...
