Great Blackberry size pocket receiver. November 2, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Not the better, old, Pioneer XM-TO-GO. Previously when on the road in rental cars, the XM-TO-GO could be thrown on the dashboard and the modulator would work with the FM radio. Now the modulator is only available when installed with the car kit option. Perhaps sometime soon, a plug shorting the correct pins enabling the modulator to be used, will be available. A software update for the modulator function would be nice. By itself it is only for cutting the grass, jogging or gardening. Hardly worth the price of an XM subscription. Car or Home kit mandatory.
Love this radio! October 31, 2008 Does it irk to me to have to pay for good music, yeah! But, this radio is a good buy. It goes from inside the house to inside car to outside walking. You do need an antenae (the walking one is a headset) and the sunstorms, etc., will affect your reception. My husband bought it for me last Christmas and I will be returning the favor this year!
WOW! October 13, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My title describes my reaction to this incredible machine. To say I was overwhelmed is an understatement. I ve always wanted a "walkman" style radio to listen to XM on,but it was tough finding something like that. I was aware of the Inno, but I had no idea how great a piece of equipment this was, and the fact you could record XM content on it was quite a bonus!
The inno is very user friendly. I m a little technology challenged, but I had no problem setting everything up. The stub antenna that comes with it seems adequate. I walked eight miles this morning and only lost the signal for a few minutes behind a building. When you don t have a clear signal you can always listen to the recorded content. I recorded several hours last night to have back up music. The unit gives you 50 hours of recording time and the quality of the recordings sound exactly the same as the live XM signal.
Another feature is the ability to store "favorite" channels and access them quite easily. By pressing the display button when listening live you can see what songs are playing on the other channels. Recording is quite simple. One touch when the song is playing will give you the option of recording a song, the channel, and like a Tivo, you can schedule a recording session for later. If only I had this baby since Ive been an XM subscriber!
The unit feels solid and as I mentioned is very user friendly. I just "swapped" a subscription from a Roady to the Inno. I can see taking this everywhere. It comes with a home kit and antenna that you dock the unit in to power the battery. All in all, I am very pleased with the Inno. I got a refurbished unit for $75. Needless to say, this is one of the best purchases I ve ever made.
A lot of people still claim they won't pay for radio. That is, until you hear what XM is about. There are so many choices of music and talk programming. Music you don t hear on terrestrial radio. That is the joy of Satellite radio..listening to commerical free stations you cannot find anymore from an all 40 s station, a Broadway music station, several Jazz stations, classic country, etc. How many beautiful music stations are there anymore? Maybe a handful. You get the idea.
I ve been thrilled with XM since I subscribed almost three years ago. The Inno brings it to a whole new level.
Works Great October 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This works great. I have no complaints. I wish it could pick up a signal inside a building but what are you gonna do? Usually does have to face south to get a signal but it is very easy to just record a show an hour before you want to listen. I have really enjoyed it.
Great radio poor built in antenna October 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased the Inno XM radio and I love it. The only thing about it is that the built in antenna has a small quark. It must be held vertically or it will not work. It does not want to work if it is next to your body. It will not work with the included belt holder. I purchased the arm band holder and that does not work well ether. I tried to put the holders at different places around me and none of them worked. You MUST purchase the head phone/antenna combo or you will be disappointed with the radio. The only acceptable way to make the built in antenna work is to hold it vertically in your hand in front of you. Get the radio and head phone/antenna combo and you won't go wrong with this radio.
