5 out of 5 stars I Love It!   October 12, 2008

It is DEFINITELY worth the money. It works beautifully, and the sound is excellent. I purchased it for my Stepdaughter. She is autistic, and lives in a group home. As soon as one of the caregivers checked it out, she came back the next week with money in her hand, and had me order one exactly like it for her home. She loves it too. I would certainly recommend it to anyone.

The sound is good, not Bose but good. The reception however leaves a little to be desired. The included antenna works but the set has difficulty picking up some AM stations. Have not tried the CD portion yet.

5 out of 5 stars SOUNDS BETTER THAN OUR BOSE WAVE!   October 3, 2008

If you are looking for a solid sound and solid setup, this player offers terrific value--better, in fact, than anything I found in the research leading up to this purchase.

I love the way I can hit the highest volume to play the full range of my cd's--and not a whit of distortion.

By the way, I'm not a geek, not an electronic whiz, but I managed to put everything together without any help. My only complaint is that the directions could use clearer setup instructions. The directions differentiate between two models, and I always find that sort of additional info unnecessary and slightly confusing. Would it really cost Sony that much more to separate the instructions?

Anyway, back to my original comment: I love the sound (not tinny, not thin). Warning: As some have mentioned, the units are larger than you think, so plan your spot beforehand. I had to change my spot once the player arrived.

Enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars Superb little system   September 2, 2008

My wife and I were just married in our back yard. We looked for a small system that would be loud and clear for our music. Sight unseen, we bought this system. We could have bought another more expensive brand, but this one sounded good. The sound was awesome! And unlike other small systems, there is no sound distortion at higher volume levels. It turns out that this unit is an upgraded version of a similar Sony system that I bought years ago. However, the sound quality of this one is easily 50% better than the original, which cost more. My highest recommendation for a system so inexpensive.

3 out of 5 stars Sony stereo review   August 31, 2008
I am somewhat disappointed with this stereo because an earlier review indicated that it got better radio reception than other stereo sets. I disagree. It does not get any better reception than my other system I replaced.
Otherwise, it is a good system worth the money.
