much more even than ray of light October 16, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
as good as ray of light was, this album sounds much more even and there are actually uptempo tracks that are listenable instead of overporoduced with foreign sounds. Music was a track that had "madonna classic" written all over it, as were don't tell me, what it feels like for a girl which were also releases. The rest of the album consists of tracks with guitars and a couple techno tracks. Definitely check it out
Scrawlings of a Madonna Visitor.... October 10, 2005 I wasn't as hooked by this as her previous album RAY OF LIGHT and the one after: AMERICAN LIFE....Music is a lot flatter and doesn't quite succeed in creating the vibe for me...
My version has American Pie on it! Not sure why this one here doesn't...
Madonna- Pop Goddess! October 10, 2005 Madonna is the ultimate entertainment Icon. She is the most successful female vocalist of all time according to Genesis Book Of World Records and Billboard. With over 275 Million albums sold Madonna has dominated charts around the world since her first album titled "Madonna" hit the streets back in the early 80's. Madonna has defined music in a way no artist since Elvis has. The "Music" CD is another work of art that no music lover should be without. People have loved her and loved to hate her from the beginning, with good cause she inspires and commands attention. She is after all Madonna. There is nothing like the REAL thing. And Madonna is "Real" in every since of the word.
Madonna:- Music September 18, 2005 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Two years after "Ray Of Light," Madonna returned with "Music," her first US #1 album since 1989's "Like A Prayer". The album married her with French producer Mirwais and was an instant smash. It debuted at #1 around the world and was preceded by the title cut, which became her twelveth #1 in the US and spent a month at the top of the Hot 100. The singles "Don't Tell Me" and "What It Feels Like For A Girl" both reached top ten around the world, though the latter only reached #23 in America. The former scored two MTV Video Music Award nominations: best female video and best choreography in a video. The album was nominated for the best pop vocal album Grammy and the "Music" single earned a nod for record of the year and best female pop vocal performance. "Music" secured Madonna the 2001 Brit Award for International Female - the first time she had won the trophy. "Music" has sold over 2 million units in the US and another 12 million internationally.
1. "Music" (10/10) 2. "Impressive Instant" (10/10) 3. "Runaway Lover" (10/10) 4. "I Deserve It" (10/10) 5. "Amazing" (10/10) 6. "Nobody's Perfect" (10/10) 7. "Don't Tell Me" (10/10) 8. "What It Feels Like For A Girl" (10/10) 9. "Paradise (Not For Me)" (10/10) 10. "Gone" (9/10)
"American Pie" appears on the UK version of the album, and is also very good. The album's opening track, the hit single "Music", is brilliant, and definately one of the album's best moments. "Impressive Instant" certainly is impressive, and it's my fave from the album. "Runaway Lover" is another brilliant effort which cannot be missed, whereas "I Deserve It" is not as good as we've seen so far, but still brilliant. "Amazing" is also another fantastic song, and then there's "Nobody's Perfect". Madonna is right - nobody is perfect, but this song certainly is. "Don't Tell Me" is yet another cracking song, which reached both #4 in the UK and the US. Deservedly so. "What It Feels Like For A Girl" is a fantastic song, with an equally fantastic video. "Paradise (Not For Me" maybe Madonna's spookiest song yet, along with "Mer Girl", from her previous effort "Ray Of Light". Madonna also blurts out a few French words. The last track "Gone", is easily the album's weakest, but still absolutely fab. Recommended? YES!!!!
My top three "Music" pics:- 3) Music 2) Don't Tell Me 1) Impressive Instant
Dont trust TeamLamb! September 16, 2005 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
Do not trust most of the bad reviews here. They are a team of Mariah Carey fans who have set out to destroy Madonna, Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston so they can get Mariah Carey in the number one spot.
I have alerted Maverick Records and Warner Brothers to the situation and have suggested legal action against them. They intend to make use of the press in any way possible, cluttering the press with bad reviews to make those artiste's releases flop. That is just sad.
