Back to the start May 8, 2006 Brothers & Sisters is a great look into early Coldplay. "Easy to Please" is such a mellow, haunting song with a breezy background noise. "Only Superstition" is an energetic track about the struggle to overcome needless fears. And the title track exudes perfectly that classic Coldplay anguish/yearning motif.

Very nice album, the first ones of Coldplay. Nice and calm music...Very good for Coldplay fans...
Not their Best December 24, 2005 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Brother's and Sister 3/3: This Song really deserved its own single but how did it end up on rouble as a b-side. This song is really good and probably the best. Only Suprestiton 2/3: Only Superstition really rocks, but could be longer... Easy to please 1/3: Coldplay really loses their energy and the rest of the band doesn't kick in. Album 6/10 I'd still buy it if i were you so BUY it . Its no waist of money. Just because im a kid doesn't mean i dont know much about music.
A Solid Debut EP October 9, 2005 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
In the liner notes to the BROTHERS & SISTERS E.P. the author mentions a time when Coldplay was working the so-called 'toliet gig circuit' of London. With three successful albums under their belt, and numerous critics ready to call them "the Most Important Band in the World," its hard to imagine Coldplay working so unpleasent sounding venues. Nonetheless, they did, and this short disc is a slice of Coldplay before they were famous.
Though it spans only ten minutes and three songs, BROTHERS & SISTERS clearly demonstrates why Coldplay would become famous. The tracks here are pleasent to listen to, with nice melodies tinged with the hint of meloncholy which would become their trademark. Each offers something different, from the varying tempos of the title track, to the barely audibal atmospherics of "Easy to Please," and the catchy melody of "Only Superstition." All three are good songs, and the EP is nice to pop in for a quick slice of Coldplay without needing an hour to listen to.
Thus it was that Coldplay would go on to bigger successes with their full length albums. Nonetheless, this remains a vital part of their history. In fact, with its more down to earth, less polished sounds, BROTHERS & SISTERS is, in some ways, better than the glossy tunes which they would produce later. As it is, it's a good listen, one which leaves us hoping that Coldply will eventually collect all of their earlier material in one place.
Brothers And Sisters September 8, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Undoubtedly, this CD is fascinating. Brothers And Sisters (the song) has an excellent guitar background part, and Chris Martin is well Chris Martin, singing well and not electronically supported like many modern artists of the day. Easy To Please is a slower song, that shows Martin's excellent range vocally. Only Superstition is an upbeat song, one of Coldplay's better songs. Coldplay is a skilled band and this EP proves it. Though as great a CD it is, I am compelled only to give it 4 stars because the 3 tracks. However, this is still a very great CD to get.
