The music is clear and exhilirating. The teamwork with other artists is well thought-out and professional.A very soothing collection of hits.
Could have been better , teaming up with Anita Baker and Regina Belle. June 12, 2006 11 out of 19 found this review helpful
I like this chap, soulful and smooth. Lately he's kind of selling off, though. Too much success may be harmful. I am surprised that in this gathering he seems he has forgotten some of the true vocalists whom he was used to work with when he was pretty unknown....It happens all the time... Call it ...ungratefulness !

The front cover looks cheap and trashy. Actually, the whole booklet strikes one as excessively 'popular' in the sense of being uninformative and superficial. But please don't judge this CD by the cover! Of course it is smooth jazz. But it is truly smooth in the sense of being genuinely delicate, mellow and soothing. The record is easily accessible but not dull nor unimaginative. No categorizations like "pop" or "jazz" are required in this case. This is simply elegant, tender and relaxing music. However, Botti's previous effort "When I Fall In Love" was slightly better in my opinion. Anyway, four stars - recommended.

Chris Botti channeled the Jackie Gleason Orchestra, not Miles Davis, for To Love Again. A favorite at frat and dorm parties in the early 1960s, Gleason's orchestra featured an arching solo trumpet, lush strings and great romantic melodies. Botti added vocals, something The Great One ignored. If this album catches on, and from all the reviews so far, it looks like it has, Chris Botti may want to reexamine the Mantovani songbook for his next album.
