Ugh! What a stinker. June 24, 2008 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
Let's start off by being completely honest in the fact that Mariah hasn't had a good album since Butterfly and her last great single was Heartbreaker. After that it was all downhill...the voice, the talent, the music. Again we are served up bland and boring R&B which is sooooo overplayed it is not even funny anymore. It is a shame because the ladies have been having a great year with excellent releases from Donna Summer, Janet Jackson, Madonna, Jewel, Leona Lewis and Alanis Morissette. Whitney, it is time for you to come back and retake the R&B throne from this poseur.

This album was great. I put it on Sunday afternoon in the kitchen while I finished my daily chores. It put me in the mood to work and took my mind off of the tasks at hand. I enjoyed listening to the upbeat music and loved her choice of lyrics. Its been a while since Mariah put out a CD that made you move. She did a fantastic job changing her image, as seen on the front cover as well as renewing her musical talents. She is a talented individual that continues to shock the musical world. I highly recommend this album to men and women of all ages. Even if you are a older individual it makes you feel like you are young again!
very hotttt album! June 24, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
i guess, to each to his own, but i happen to LOVVVE this album!! of course we all know 'touch my body' and 'bye bye' *which i think island should've picked a different single for the 2nd one*, but here are some non-singles i recommend listening to: migrate *hot track! duet with t-pain*, cruise control, i'll be loving you long time, last kiss, love story, i stay in love, o.o.c (out of control), i'm that chick *has a sample of michael jackson's song off the wall...kinda like a disco groove*. i think mariah's vocals are very strong in just about every song and fits the groove of each song. this album to me is more like something you'd hear on the radio in the late 70s early 80s...just feel-good boogie music lol! so if you love the 70s and 80s groove type of music and also some upbeat pop/hip hop music, this album won't disappoint.
More Like MC To The Negative 2nd Power!!! June 23, 2008 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was really looking forward to this album because I enjoyed 'The Emancipation of Mimi.' I bought it the day it came out and listened to it right away. Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed! I found the album to be boring, uninspiring, and very predictable. Most of the songs sound the same. Songs like Migrate & Side Effects have been done by other artists so many times before. They do not showcase Mariah's true voice. This album also attempted to show some fun with Cruise Control but it becomes irritating after a few listens. She does pull it off in I'm That Chick. This song heads more towards the dance genre and is different from other Mariah tracks. The ballads on this album are too dull and have no emotion. The only song I enjoyed was I Wish You Well. This song really comes closer to sounding like classic Mariah. Overall this album is a mess and it sounds like something out of the Pussycat Dolls catalogue. My copy is on a shelf collecting dust because I refuse to listen to it anymore. Mariah needs to be more experimental and distance herself from the R&B scene because it has become too generic and predictable. If she continues to follow this path she is going to let that powerful voice of hers go to waste. Lets hope her next album is more decent and worth purchasing.

Mariah... ok June 19, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Mariah's new CD is just ok. It's nothing to get excited about. Haven't really listen to it much. So, I'm glad I didn't go to Walmart and pay $13 for it. I'll probably end up giving the CD to my daughters.
