1 out of 5 stars Worst Neil Diamond CD   June 9, 2008

I am an avid Neil Diamond Fan and I have seen him many times in concert live and I am so disapointed in this CD. This is the worst music I have ever heard him do. It is such a dark sounding CD.

I was never a Neil Diamond fan but when I heard his song, "Pretty Amazing Grace", on American Idol, I decided to purchase his new CD. What beautiful songs! I would strongly suggest this purchase.

4 out of 5 stars Way to go Neil!   June 9, 2008

I recently bought "Home Before Dark" and have really enjoyed it. IF you're a Neil Diamond fan you will enjoy this softer well-aged CD. Glad it is in my collection.

This may be THE record of the year. The Neil Diamond we remember from the 60s, The Solitary Man. Some things, like fine wine get better with age: This record is rich in its non produced simple melodies and acoustic guitar and Neil's voice has never sounded better.

4 out of 5 stars A musical journey   June 8, 2008
If you are a Neil Diamond enthusiast, as I am, then I think you will find this album to embody the artist's heartfelt reflections on his life. I have always found Diamond to be both story-teller and poet in his music and, most of the time, at an honest level. One thing he certainly has been on over the last few decades is a journey of spiritual discovery, and I have appreciated his integrity. I believe "Pretty Amazing Grace" says it all.
