I simply adore Celtic Woman, and this album is just brilliant. I hope to meet them someday in person (this is coming from a 17 year old boy).
Celtic Woman Needs More Fiddle April 21, 2008
I saw the concert at Radio City and was truly WOWED by it. Unfortunately this CD contains mostly soft, quiet songs. They are great, but it needed more of the electricity of the fiddle, drums, etc. Both in the concert and on the CD, the use of non-Celtic music was not needed. There is plenty of ALL Celtic music to handle a concert and CD.
 Celtic woman's new journey April 13, 2008
I have given this CD as a gift many times. This is our all time favorite CD. I ordered it for a hostess gift for St. Patrick's Day event and it was received with enthusiasm. We never get tired of the music, songs, or the taleneted ladies who preform.
A new Journey April 7, 2008
These girls are a "delight". I have seen them in concert, and they are excellent. I enjoy completely everything they record. By far the best of their products is the DVD of the concert at Slane Castle. Just excellent in every way.

I first heard of Celtic Woman almost by accident I was flipping channels one day in mid 2007 and happened to stop on my local PBS station and I'm glad I did because if I hadn't then I would have missed out on a truly wonderful program and that was Celtic Woman: A New Journey live at Slane Castle.
It featured the talented original Celtic Woman members:
singers Chloe, Lisa, Meav and Orla and fiddle player Mairead
It also featured short time member Hayley Westenra.
I was immediately hooked and went on a quest to get the Celtic Woman CDs as well as the girls individual solo CDs as well.
Fast forward to March 10th, 2008 7:30pm at my local performing arts center it was a night not like any that I will ever forget.
You see that is where I got to see the Celtic Woman show live and in person and it was a sold out show and there wasn't an empty seat in the house to be had it was packed with every one from 8 to 80 years old and it was truly a magical night and most likely the best concert I have ever gone to and it featured the talents of original members Mairead Nesbitt, Chloe Agnew, Orlagh Fallon and new comers Lynn Hilary, and Alex Sharpe.
It also featured a band and choir that were exceptional.
The singing was memorable and you could really tell that the girls enjoyed what they were doing and I will never forget the singing, but the real stand out was Mairead Nesbitt and her fiddle playing, she had so much energy and excitement and ran around the stage like a fairy flying through the air.
So now onto the CD it feature a mix of traditional, world and folk songs that are of memorable and a delight to listen to.
The CD features original members singers Chloe, Lisa, Meav and Orla and fiddle player Mairead and new comer and short time member Hayley Westenra.
There is a combination of solos by the girls and group numbers, often featuring stunning harmonies.
The Sky and the Dawn and the Sun
This song is an introduction to the girls and starts off with Mairead and her fiddle and then you get to hear all of the voices in turn. It has heavy orchestral and choral backing and is a wonderful start to the album. It also feature a wonderful not to be missed solo by Mairead.
The Prayer
This song is sung by Chloe and it is a very nice and uplifting song to hear after a long day. Near the end it gets big and bombastic with and epic choir and then it calms down again before get big and bombastic then it ends as nicely as it began.
Newgrange
This song is a haunting song about ancient ruins near Dublin. It is sung by Orla, who has the lowest voice in the group, and is the harpest of the group. This is just a very nice song and pleasant to listen to.
Over the Rainbow
This song is probably the most famous of the songs the girls sing. Not a song that I really used to like much, but this version is a lot better than the original and features four part harmony that is stunning. Chloe sings the lead, with Hayley, Orla and Meav supporting. This song is even more stunning when heard live and in person.
Granuaille's Dance
This song is basically a Jig of sorts that is played by Mairead and it just makes you want to get up and dance along with it. When she played this song at the show she had a presence that was magical and full of energy as she danced, jumped and ran around the stage. It's come as no surprise to me that she is considered one of the best fiddle players in the world.
The Blessing
This song start off with a piano playing and is the first of three solo tracks by Lisa. It's another nice uplifting song that can make you feel better when your feeling down. Lisa's singing is superb and fits nicely with the piano.
Dulaman
This song is the first of four successive tracks of stunning beauty. This is an up tempo number, sung in Gaelic by Meav with a drum and male choral backing. This is another one of those song that's even better in concert than on the album.
Beyond the Sea
This song has interweaving voices and stunning harmonies, the girls alternating on singing lead. It's both beautiful and atmospheric at the same time, with Mairead playing a fiddle solo in the middle.
The last Rose of Summer
This song is beautiful and it`s sung by Meav and Hayley. It has some beautiful harmonies towards the end.
Caledonia
This song starts off with a very nice choir then it goes into a guitar and Lisa starts singing. It is a very nice song and Lisa sings it so well that while listening you can even picture Caledonia. It also features very nice flute work. The choir is exceptional.
Lascia Ch'io Pianga
This song is a nice classical song that is sung by Hayley and it is a very well song but just doesn't go with the theme of the album or group.
Carrickfergus
This song is sung by Orla and she plays the harp throughout and she sings with a grace a grace and beauty that just makes you feel nice.
Vivaldi's Rain
This song is Sung by Chloe and is a good song and it's well sung.
The Voice
This song is sung by Lisa and it's just a lovely and haunting song she is joined by Mairead on fiddle and Orla on harp. It's a very nice song that is sure to please.
Scarborough Fair
This song is Hayley's second solo. This is a good version and even rivals that of Paul Simon's version. It's nicely done and is a delight to hear.
Mo Ghile Mear
This song the finale song on the album and the album ends as it began with a song showcasing each of the girls in turn, and there is even a nice drum solo and Mairead doing what she does best play her heart out on the fiddle. The choir is as always nice and uplifting. There are nice harmonies throughout the song. Also at the show I was at when this song was over the girls got a standing ovation. This is another one of those songs that is even better live than on the album.
So there you have it and album that is sure to please and delight.
If you ever get to see Celtic Woman live and in person I suggest you do so as it will be something that you will never forget. I know I never will.
