One of the BEST for 2008!!!! July 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The new album is GREAT! One of the BEST this year! EVERY song on this album is worth listening to...not really any tracks to skip on DIVISION...one side note though...if you buy this album at BEST BUY you get some bonus tracks...:)
Not exactly a step up, but definitely not a sophomore slump July 8, 2008 Let me just start by saying that I absolutely loved every second of 10 Years' debut album, "The Autumn Effect." Although they came off as an obvious Tool/Perfect Circle wanna-be, they pulled it off nicely. Their ability to write creative hooks with beautiful melodies, and also rock out here and there, made them one of my favorite new bands.
After a long wait, we finally have the band's sophomore album, "Division." I wasn't really sure what direction the band would go in order to step up their game, especially since "Autumn Effect" sounded more like a 2nd or 3rd album anyway. For the most part, it seems the band has maintained their previous style, but with a few twists here and there. Songs like "Beautiful," "11:00am," "Russian Roulette," and "Picture Perfect" easily sound like they could've been on the first album. Then there are songs that are similar, but take on a more typical radio rock sound like "Actions & Motives" and "Just Can't Win." Then we have a couple songs that sound completely different like "Focus" and "Proud Of You," which are definitely more on the experimental side. On my first 2 listens, I enjoyed the album, but felt that it failed to achieve the same magic as The Autumn Effect. I kinda felt like they had taken a step towards sounding like everyone else in their genre. But after a couple more listens, you begin to really love all the songs. "Actions & Motives" is a good example, I thought it was mediocre at first but now I love it. This has become one of my favorite albums of 2008, but I still don't think it's quite as good as The Autumn Effect. But if you really loved that album, then I think you'll enjoy this one to.
A Must Hear from a Must See Band June 25, 2008 I was fortunate enough to catch this band on a whimsical craving to see and hear some live music. There were about thirty people in the bar, but you wouldn't have thought the band new that, they rocked as if they were playing to a stadium full of people. From that experience I purchased the Autumn Effect, which has become a staple in my iPod rotation. Simply put, what an awesome album. I was starting to get upset at 10 Years for not getting in the studio and getting the next album completed, but now that Division has finally been released, thank you guys for taking the time. This album is absolutely beautiful musically, lyrically, and artistically. Since I have purchased it, I have yet to stop listening to it. It is a purchase no 10 Years fan will regret.
Best Regards, MWB

What an awesome follow up album. This band is here to stay. If you have not heard of them, or any of their music, than you need to sample it NOW!. Oh just buy it, it's well worth it.
Good rock with different voice June 20, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Saw this band at rock on the range and liked what they played. Everyone likes Beautiful, but their other songs sound good. Don't know if the CD has staying power. Their sound might blend with other bands that are coming out now, but the singer has a different sound, so they might last longer.
