 Stop hatin on GTA4 cuz its good! September 16, 2008

I have played most of the other Grand Theft Auto games in the series. To tell you the truth, I didn't finish San Andreas because it bored me too much. When I bought this game I expected to play little per week and if I did, spend that time causing rouble in the city. Part of this is true. I didn't think the story was going to be as good as it was until i realized I couldn't put it down! I finished it in less than 30 hrs to get the achievement, but that was only because I loaded if i lost a mission that took too long:D anway... bac to the review... As i said, i now spent many hrs a week just turning my 360 on and killin people because its soo fun. The city is te RIGHT size, and you can get into alot of places so messing with the po-po gets really interesting every time you play. There are also alot of minigames that you can play like in San Andreas (pool,darts, etc.) The graphics are awesome and little details like Niko taking an ACTUAL STEP when walking up/down stairs adds up into a really detailed game. You can buy clothes as you could in san andreas. You cannot add tattoos or change haircuts, or work out. There is also a new feature in which you can take cover behind almost anything, making shootouts easier and more exciting, as you can appreciate your surrunding more rather than shoot and run tactics.
The people at RockstaR added a cell phone feature.With this feature you call your friends, change options, etc. It is the in-game menu. The most important part of the cell phone, is the ONLINE MULTIPLAYER feature(woohooo!). Rmember playing in SA(san andreas) co-op bt having to share the same car or screen distance, well not online you dont have to! The game modes include deathmatch, teamdethmatch, cops & crooks (one team = crooks gettin to destination and other team = cops trying to get them), mafiya(do stuff for people using your phone), team mafiya, race, and GTA rac(same as normal race only you can take your opponents car and use it to finish race). Online is unique and great, unless your connection is not so good, because truth is top kilers are going to be those with good connections that dont lag (ex: see peron walking htru same spot over and over while they passed it like10 secs ago.)
The game as a whole is just too good to pass up. If you're a fan of the series you should have this game already:D if you are thinking about getting ANY game for your next gen system an havent decided, pick up a copy of GTA4.

This game is only improved by being available on the Xbox 360. The game play is as fun as always. Has finally entered the 21st century with the addition of computers and cell phones. Xbox Live makes the online fun to play and doesn't suffer from lag. All of the modes are great expically Cops & Crooks, Free Mode, and the cooperative multiplayer games give the feel of single player missions. Should last a long time and is a must buy.

I THOUGHT THIS GAME WAS GONNA UPGRADE ALOT OF THINGS.. I MEAN DONT GET ME WRONG IT WAS BETTER IN GRAPHICS AND CERTAIN LITTLE DETAILS SUCH AS THE MOST WRECKED CARS BACK FIREING AND SUCH.. BUT IT REALLY SUCKED THAT IT TOOK CAR CUSTOMIZATION OUT I WAS EXPECTING IT TO UPGRADE A WHOLE LOT MORE IN MY OPINION.BUT IF U PLAN ON PURCHASING THIS GAME I WOULD ADVISE U WAIT TIL SAINT ROW 2 KOMES OUT I KNOW FOR A FACT GTA IS GONNA REVISE THERE WHOLE STRATEGY WHEN THEY SEE WHAT SAINTS ROW 2 IS WORK WITH LOL..

GTA has been a favorite of mine since GTA III. The game is always fun. I like how they added GPS to the vehicles. The graphics aren't too bad. Its alot of fun...for the most part. I give it a 7 out of 10 I like how they added the cell phone thing into the game, but it can also be a pain. If your a cold blooded killer, your not gonna blow up my cell phone asking me to hang out, and get upset and lose friend points when i have other stuff going on. Every time im in a car, i am constantly having to shift the right thumb stick down just to get a good view. When your on a mission, and killing people, it only shows the "main target" on the map. The same problem lies in the racing aspect. You have no idea how far the other cars are behind u. I'd like to know if hes right on my tail, or if i have time to mess up and still be in the lead. When im on a mission and almost dying, how come i can't find any med. kits or food? they could have had the character get his energy back for staying in one place. So please don't spend $60 on this game. I'd wait til it went down to $30.

I will keep my comments simple. For those who have never played the GTA series, this latest installment will blow you away!! I suggest playing Vice City and San Andreas first, then play GTA4 on an LCD TV last. I have a personal connection with GTA 4 because I'm originally from the Astoria section of Queens, NY. Let me tell ya, the attention to detail is amazing compared to NYC. The First thing I did before I started any missions or mayhem, was simply steal a convertible, and drive around the city. Times Square is awesome at night, and if you drive down by the Hudson river at dawn, you can catch a glimpse of the sun rising over Liberty City AKA Manhattan!! Unlike the cartoon-ish look of Vice City, which I enjoyed also, GTA4 has a very gritty, urban look which gives the player a sense of realism. I wish the twin towers were still standing, that would have been an awesome sight as well. Rockstar, has once again, out done themselves!!
