A lot of fun, but definitely flawed July 10, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love this game and have probably played through 200 games or more since buying it. EA loses big points for screwing up the dynasty mode, however - you'll play the exact same schedule year after year after year. How a company that has been making sports games for so long can screw up something so simple is beyond me. It's like they purposely do stuff like this so we can all rejoice when they fix these stupid mistakes the following year. Sometimes it feels like they start from scratch every year. In the end, though, this is one of the best hockey games I've owned.
Great Game March 29, 2006 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Of course the hockey game to go with is Nhl 2006 not Nhl 2K6 Nhl 2006 gameplay and graphics are better than 2k6 as for the game the only thing I have against it is that their is no user records to keep track of how many games you have played and won The season mode is great and they have all World teams so you can do the World tournement mode if you'd like Also another good thing about this game is you can create your own team and players and you can also edit players increasing or decreasing their attributes to make them better or worse the players face and features are ok they didnt really make everyones personal face and hair etc. but you really cant tell with the jersey and helmet on only at the edit screen This game is recomended for any hockey fan or spors fan
NHL is back HELL YA February 5, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
With the last few NHL's in the EA series sorely disappointing me, it was nice to play this one and find to be up to snuff. The game is advertised as bring back the fun of the classic NHL 94, and it definitely does. The reasons are many, mainly accurate player and puck momentum tech and new shooting features that bring the game back from the doldrums of lousy gameplay. Plus, the Dynasty Mode feature is awesome, letting you control basically every aspect of the team. This is a great game and I highly recommend it.
Not worth you money though mostly not worth your time... October 30, 2005 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This game is nothing special. I have played every EA Sports hockey game since its inception and I am not impressed. The online game play is not realistic. You will win games and lose games and feel like your skill is not making a difference. Very frustrating. Online some games you will win 6-0 with out even trying and other you will lose 10-0 in the same breath. There doesn't seem to be a rythme or reason to this game. Overall the controls are generall very numb. The defense players are non existent. This game may be cheaper this year though forget the money, don't waste you time giving this game a chance, you will be disapointed.
Not as up to date as I hoped it would be. October 19, 2005 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is my first NHL video game and it is pretty good. There is a big difference between difficulty levels, but right now I am finding the medium difficulty level to be more fun (I quit my dynasty mode on easy after scoring 19 goals in one game). Anyway, some of the players are able to do ridiculous moves with the puck, and also what kills me is the fact that the glass behind the net shatters too often whenever you hit a slapshot past the net. Also, the rosters aren't as up to date as they should be. (ex. If you are a Hurricanes fan, you will be very dissapointed to find that they only have Martin Gerber and Jamie Storr as goaltenders and Cam Ward, the rookie, is not even on the game, even with players in the minors on this game. What I had to do to keep the other team from scoring so many goals is that I had to sign Curtis Joseph from the Free Agency list and they still will not change the Red Wings helmet into a Hurricanes helmet.) It would make it more interesting if there was a fantasy draft where you can pick your whole team from all the players on the game like in Madden NFL, but it doesn't have one. Overall, it's a decent game to play.
