4 out of 5 stars Nancy Drew Double Dare 3   September 23, 2008
The Nancy Drew Double Dare 3 computer game is fun for young teenagers and the two games are a very good value for the price. However, be aware that the descriptions for these may be incorrect, as they are NOT compatible with Windows Vista. (Even though we were assured by customer service that the games were Vista compatible).

4 out of 5 stars Great games but ...   June 9, 2007

These two flaps of Nancy Drew's adventures are very interesting. The decor is awesome, the gameplay is always well suited and I found no bug when playing to these games (unlike to what happened to some previous flaps). I am just a little worried about two points : first, as a French guy, one or two enigmas were not so easy to solve (maybe because of my poor knowledge of english ! lol) and secondly the end of the Blackmoor's Manor slightly disappointed me because I expected something more spectacular. Basically, Nancy Drew's fans will certainly be satisfied by these games. I assigned 4 stars to these games because I couldn't assign them 5 stars. Anyway I really think these games would deserve 4.5 stars.

4 out of 5 stars Great Idea   July 12, 2006

The best way to buy these games is to buy them in a comp pack like this. Although I am a collector and have usually purchased my games in a single package, the Double Dare comps are like a BOGO sale - Buy One Get One Free.

The Secret of Shadow Ranch is the first game HerInteractive has created based on the original Nancy Drew mystery stories - this one being the most popular of the series. Because of this, I assumed that the game would follow the plot line of the story. It doesn't. Not even a little bit. The other characters bear a slight resemblence, but it's a completely new story. I enjoyed the play, but there were some games and puzzles that were almost impossibly challenging. I had to go online to the community message board more than once to track down hints and tips.

The Curse of Blackmoor Manor was a much more intriguing play and took me a little bit longer to solve. I'm a jumpy person anyway, and with that in mind, I shouldn't have started the game in the middle of the night. It's a little creepy in the beginning. There is some interesting history about England for those who feel the need for at least something educational in a computer game. I felt much more satisfied with the ending of this case than the other one because I had to use the second chance option many times - meaning I worked harder.

These games are a little addicting, but they're fun and a good challenge.
