Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Reservoir Dogs follows the progress and planning of the famed diamond heist while filling in some of the cliffhanger questions from the film. The game remains faithful to the original movie, with gamers able to play all the key characters, including the infamous Mr Blonde. Find out what happened to Mr. Blue and Mr. Brown, where Mr. Pink hid the diamonds, what happened at the actual heist itself and much more. The game also features the full and original soundtrack from the movie - those super sounds of the seventies. High-speed driving action includes chase and escape. Full original soundtrack from the film, plus the voice and likeness of Michael Madsen as Mr. Blonde

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars It's not that bad!   March 5, 2008
This game has undergone tons of bad reviews, which it did not really deserve. Granted, one of the greatest thing about Reservoir Dogs (the movie) was the fact that you had to use your imagination for all the scenes they didn't show. However...this game does a good job with trying to put everything together.

Pros: The driving parts of the game are great! My most favorite thing was the talking. They all connected together real well and it wasn't just mumbo jumbo talking that most other games have. Most of the songs are great. and the rating system is also pretty cool - the psychopath and the professional (most of the time I ended up with psycho. hahaha.

Cons: My most hated thing about this game was the voice for Mr.Pink. The guy sounds more like Eddie Deezen than Steve Buscemi. Graphics are just blehh...It looks a little more like an N64 game. Aside from that, the controls aren't that great & you can't change them...I find it awfully difficult in the shooter parts trying to get my mouse to stay steady.

All that said, the game is a lot of fun. It was also worth the price for me (I bought it for less than 5 bucks on Ebay). If you can find it cheap and can stomach a lot of cussing and a horrible Steve Buscemi impersonator then I suggest buying it!

5 out of 5 stars This game deserves more credit than it's given   January 1, 2008

I got this game off Direct2Drive for $19.95, all I can say is that it is absolutely worth the price (no more, no less). I'm very pleased with myself for ignoring the bad reviews (IGN: 3.0/10, GameSpot: 4.6/10). Here's my breakdown:

Story: This game stays true to the movie. 6 criminals rob a jewlery store and everything goes wrong.

Graphics: Not the best I've ever seen. The characters' faces look like dolls. However, the lighting and the environments work very well. (9.2/10)

Sound: From the gunfire and explosions, to the decent voice work, to the great music (Joe Tex's "I Gotcha" works extremely well in the game), this game's sound is great. (9.5/10)

Gameplay: Taking hostages, using cover (this game has possibly the best cover system I've ever seen in any 3rd person shooter), and the "Bullet Festival" that you can activate once youre adrenaline meter is full (each character has his own interesting little beginning animation to this move), this game is the BOMB! (10/10)

Controls: No issues seen (possibly because this game is too adrenaline pumping to notice). (10/10)

AI: Good enough for me, civilian actions are believable, police tactics seem realistic enough, most enemies seem to even have been given names (scripted or not, I'm not sure). (10/10)

Lasting Appeal: Not a whole lot to do afterwards, this game lasted me about 3-4 hours. However, it was very fun while it lasted. (7.0/10)

Final Comments: My only complaint is that this game seems to chug quite substantially on my computer. Other than that, this is a fantastic, short but sweet, game that is worth your time. You can get this game for a few bucks here at Amazon, making this game a real bargain. Please, do yourself a favor, ignore the bad reviews and buy this game. So long as you don't expect too much from this game and not judge it too harshly, you will have fun.
