4 out of 5 stars Basic camera   September 15, 2008
This camera is good as a basic camera and comes with the Xbox 360 Live Vision Camera, a headset, and 1 month of Xbox Live Gold service.

Quality of picture and video is adequate for casual social interaction and the camera is easy to install. Since my family lives on both coasts, I like how the video chat helps bring the distance closer. Having the receiving sound on both the headset and tv speakers is a great option, because it allows the rest of the room to hear the rest of the conversation, so you are not doing double duty of conversant and middeman relaying the message.

5 out of 5 stars Pretty good   July 30, 2008

I found it funny how it asked me how fun this "game" was...Let's see, the controls were jerky, the graphics were bad...

But no. It's a webcam. Given everything, I didn't even use it for a game. No sir, I did not buy it for my XBOX 360. I bought it for my iMac.

Basically, it's for claymation and such. I bought it because it's a good webcam, but more importantly, it's Mac-compatible.

Good "game" overall.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Apple iSight substitute   June 12, 2008

The inexpensive XBox 360 Live Vision camera is natively recognized by current versions of Mac OSX, without having to install any drivers: just plug it in, and you can immediately video conference using iChat, Skype, etc...
Focus is manual (unlike the iSight, which has powered focusing and can be set to autofocus mode). The picture quality is excellent, very sharp and low light sensitivity perfectly adequate.
A green light ring illuminates around the base of the lens to warn you that the camera is on.
A perfect, inexpensive way to give your older Mac, Mac mini or MacPro video conferencing capability.

Also in the box: a mono headset with mike for XBox. Unfortunately, the connector is just non-standard enough that it only works on XBox, but it's an extra toy for the same price.

All in all, great value for Mac users!

3 out of 5 stars Nice camera, but MS doesn't max its potential   June 2, 2008
I was on the fence about this camera, but decided to go for it when I read that it can also be used on a PC. This is my first webcam and I've had a lot of fun with it. That being said, there isn't much on LIVE that you can use it with unless you love UNO for long periods. The lack of titles that can use this camera should deter anyone who wants to be anonymous on LIVE and not reveal your mug. Of course, you could point the camera at something else and still play the few games out there.

2 out of 5 stars GREAT Webcam   May 26, 2008

I actually do not use this webcam for XBOX. I have a MAC laptop that does not have a built in camera (its a Powerbook) and waned a Webcam. This one is GREAT because it is one of the few (and maybe the only) webcam that you can actually just plug in and use right away on a MAC! There are tons of cameras out there, but almost none of them work on a MAC. I would totally tell anyone with a MAC to get this camera! P.S. I can't change the stars on this rating, but I would TOTALLY rate this camera a 5.
