Best Second Party Controller for the PS3 November 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I decided to write a review on this product, because it doesn't have very many. I bought my first one on Gamestop and i just purchased another here at amazon.
Cons: - The analog sticks are not as precise as the sixaxis. Its not that they are a problem; its just that the sixaxis's are extremely precise. - The sixaxis motion control is about 0.3 seconds late as i noticed while i was playing little big planet and tilting the Zack boy's head; but its not a problem for that game or any other game, because it doesn't effect the really gameplay. - No rumble, but thats because it came out before the dualshock.
Pros - Its more comfortable than the sixaxis especially if you have big hands. - If you use rechargeable batteries (not included), they will last much more than 50 hours. - You can get it for [...]
Even though the controller has some cons, it also has some pros against the sixaxis and dualshock 3. Using the USB slot should not hold you back from buying it if you have the 40gb PS3 like me, because even if you buy three dualshock controllers, you will eventually need to charge more than two at the same time or connect them to the usb cables (sold separately) while playing since their batteries don't last that long. This controller is in my opinion the best third party controller currently available for the PS3. I would give it 4.5/5 which rounds up to 5/5.
Clunky, but it works. August 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If your looking for an extra controller on your PS3 and don't wanna shell out 50 bones for a Sony brand controller, this is the one for you. It's just as effective and reliable as the Sony brand only devoid of a few perks. It needs to have a wireless receiver plugged into the usb slot in order to work and it needs AA batteries to function (although it has a decent battery life span). It's bulkier than the Sony brand, but it works just fine and is ideal for having that extra controller around for multiplayer games.
