4 out of 5 stars Indy Racing -Wii   October 28, 2008
Received product in a timely fashion, price was reasonable. Game is very enjoyable and gives alot of history of Indy. A racing fan will definitely enjoy.

4 out of 5 stars Some issues, but fun & priced right   September 30, 2008
The previous reviewers did a good job summarizing the good & bad of the product.

Pro: Fun solo game at a reasonable price
Con: Two-player issues and slow re-load times

The game is fun and addictive as you work your way though the missions/years, unlocking more car models and improving your technique. Actually, I found the game most frustrating in the early missions/years because the early cars have horrible "drift", while later models actually drive tighter and make it easier to win those later stages.

Now for the cons -- the game does indeed seem to slow down in response in two-player mode, and given the sensitivity desired for good driving technique at high speeds, it ruined that portion for me. Additionally, when in solo mode, the re-load time necessary after each failed mission makes for a frustrating experience when you just want to get back in there right away and try it again.

Bought for about twenty bucks, this game was a good buy.

3 out of 5 stars Realistic racing, frustrating missions   August 28, 2008

Be warned. The description for this game makes it seem like you can race any of the chosen cars from 1961 to 1971 whenever you want. Wrong! You must complete missions to unlock additional cars and years. "Dodge" is the second mission and it's incredibly frustrating to try and survive 5 catastrophic accidents within a 1/2 lap involving every vehicle on the track except the pace car.

Other than this, it's an enjoyable driving game.

3 out of 5 stars good enough   July 21, 2008

Not a lot of variety in challenges. Round and round on one track. But it gives you a taste of Indy 500 and the concentration it takes. The WII wheel works just fine for me.

3 out of 5 stars Makes me sweat, and tap my toes.   May 29, 2008

Yeah, the track is monotonous. But the missions more than make up for that. Game play is great. 5 stars for fun.

What's frustrating is the waiting. Say you're trying to beat the devious 1961 Dodge mission. You wait 30 seconds for it to load and start up, and within about 5 seconds the other cars around you have banged you up so badly that you've failed. OK, retry. What's this? Another 30 seconds of load time? Cache the bloody thing, guys! Surely I'm not going to jump around from mission to mission; the most common case is to retry until I finally beat it, right? This costs 1.5 stars of overall rating, which I'm rounding up to 2.
