Good but with a few problems October 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Good: I got this case because it was cheap; after all, why waste the money, right? It holds, as you can see, six NDS game cartridges and your NDS itself, plus one stylus.
The Bad: This "travel case" is actually quite heavy, while the outer shell is hard, the inside rubber is lose and easily bent. This case is actually quite large, too; I'd recommend a travel case either smaller or a general larger case.
The Ugly (No, I'm not kidding): Prepare for scratches on your system and pinched fingers. There is nothing between your games and DS, so just closing the case causes them to rub, due to it being so compact, and if you try to put something between them (such as a piece of cloth) it will be very hard to close.
I, for one, found my fingers getting pinched, badly, over and over. It sounds like a case of children being clumsy, right? Well the fault is actually in the poor design: the case has a small half circle hallow on the hinge part (my guess would be to enable you to put your finger in the opening to remove the DS when the case is open), but that little hole can quite easily catch on finger pads, no matter how careful one might be. (EG, my case was very stiff, so I had to have fingers behind and thumb on the button to open.)
I finally got tired of bruised fingers and fighting to add extra protection and replaced my case.
Perfect. September 30, 2008 Best small case you can buy. Sturdy, good materials that fit like a glove. When one of my friends first saw it she said, "Your DS looks bigger than mine...", this case is so compact that she thought it was the DS lite itself!
Exactly what was needed September 2, 2008 Sturdy case, works well at holding (and protecting) the DS and its games. I purchased a second case for my other daughter who loves it too, we like it that much. Worth the money paid.
a gift for my husband July 29, 2008 The rubber inside this case keeps the ds safe and tight within the case. Not only does it hold the ds itself but it will hold 6 ds games and an extra stylus. Watch out for the back of the case as you open it up as it has a tendency to pinch your finger. It doesn't hold any game boy advance games like some other cases. I have no doubt that the case would crack if you dropped it on the right surface but it is a substantial holder and protector...especially for the price.
Very nice, safe! July 18, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I am really happy with this case. It has room for most everything I want, has a secure latch, and is fairly compact.
The case has room for your Nintendo DS Lite (without GBA game inserted), 6 NDS games (plus the one in your NDS), and a stylus (in addition to the one that fits into your NDS). Everything pops into the firm black plastic gel so nothing gets scratched or rattles around.
The size is very nice for everything it holds, and the degree of protection it offers. It is 5 3/4" x 4" x 1 1/2". With my NDS, six games, and two styluses, it weighed 1 lb, 0.5 oz. Alone, it weighed a mere 7.9 oz (half of a pound.)
There are also some great features not earlier mentioned! On the back corner(not pictured,) there is a hole through which a cord could be threaded to hang or carry the case. The three-piece liner is removable for cleaning (or to conceal papers.) A standard NDS game instruction booklet will not fit into the case without folding, though a scrap of paper with your personal hint and trick notes would. In the middle of the opened case (as pictured) there is a small slot with its own removable padding. It is large enough for another stylus with the padding removed, but I have yet to discern its original purpose, if any.
The downsides? I've noticed few. There is no space for even one GBA cartridge. The latch is a bit tricky to open (easy, but requiring effort.) The "intec" logo is printed in large, gray lettering on the top of the case, about 2" long. The case is in no means waterproof or airtight, containing several large slots (which might be good for ventilation if one was to put their still-warm DS into it in a rush.) The padding material has a tendency to attract dust and hair, but doesn't smudge or scratch your DS.
Overall, I am very happy to have purchased this product. I am planning a very long and active trip with it, and I now feel safe carrying my DS through the airport and trains (especially since I have used the hole I mentioned earlier to attach my DS to my purse with a cord.)
Unless you are seriously, pressed for space, buy this case! I got it for $9.99 plus about $5 S&H here, and it was a total steal. I would have been willing to pay $20 for the case alone.
