2 out of 5 stars Dance Mat Doesn't work!   November 12, 2008
Besides it has a bad smell. It doesn't work in my DDR 2. The game recognize it as a game cube controller it never appears as a dance mat. Totally waste of money. I hope I get my money back. Go for the original, it would be like $10 higher but it's going to work.

Bottom line... Its really bad!

2 out of 5 stars Good, not great.   July 12, 2008

It works but I have a few issues with it. It slides around and I have to reposition it between every song which is a pain. Also, it sticks to bare feet though wearing socks is better in my opinion anyway. I've had it for a couple months now and it still doesn't completely lay flat. The sides stick up a little off the floor. Hopefully that will stop with time. Lastly, it has an awful smell that has only diminished a little since I first opened the box. I don't keep it in the box so it has plenty of time to air out but so far, it's held on to much of that chemical, plastic-y odor.

Otherwise, the controls seem to work fine. It has the same pressure sensitivity as the original pad that comes with the game (DDR: Hottest Party). The cord is the same length, the graphics on the pad are clear. The bottom of the pad is soft. Compared to my original dance mat though, it's just not as good.

3 out of 5 stars Fine, but smells really weird   May 17, 2008

I went with a less expensive dance pad, because it would be rare that I have a second person around. When I opened the package, the pad smelled like turpentine or gas. It was REALLY odiferous. This is why I give it a three. I thought it would go away after awhile, but it did not. I haven't used it yet, and I guess I could have wiped it down with some kind of cleaner to get rid of the smell, but I have not so far.

Since I haven't used it, I don't know how well it works. So if you don't mind cleaning up the smell, you are good to go with this one.

The pad that came with our game isn't as cool as this one!
We now have three pads!

3 out of 5 stars Not Bad, but you could do better...   April 24, 2008

As they say in the game, (well at least when I play) - "Not bad, but you could do better." This pad is okay. It does tend to curl up at the edges and the result is the pad spins a bit when you're stepping on it. If you want a second pad this is a good choice. If your original pad is gone, this is a poor substitute.
