3 out of 5 stars Different, but not really better   November 2, 2008

I have bought Hoyle Casino for several years. While the graphics remained the same, the game still got better mainly from artificial intelligence. That is not to say the game is like a person, there are definitely quirks.

2009 changes the graphics finally, though I don't think they are better, just different. Everything feels smaller. The poker tables are harder to follow because the cards and players are on top of each other. Another annoying part of casino comes with not being able to go "all-in" in poker. Last year, the option was deleted. While not restored, this year you can choose different values easier. Numerous things in the 2009 version are different, but not always better.

Overall, if you want a good casino game Hoyle is the best. If you played it before, save your money because you may not like these improvements. I would wait until the next version when they work out the bugs.

I have not done much with the online, so no opinion. I know when I installed the game, it took about an hour to download the updates (I have a very fast internet connection) because the hoyle site is very slow.

1 out of 5 stars Not Good   October 26, 2008

I had an older version of this game, and like it much better. You can't raise on BlackJack as high as I would like to, as in the past. Also on the poker games, I couldn't even see what cards I had. Good thing it wasn't too expensive. I uninstalled it and tossed it into the garbage!

1 out of 5 stars Don't Waste Your Money   October 20, 2008

If you have the 2004 version of this, keep it ! No new characters, less playing options and choppy graphics. In the middle of playing this game when I changed venues it renamed my character to Alex, deducted $2500 from my bank account and took away my ability to speak, why ????? Also there is no drink service. Save your money, I uninstalled it and am playing the 2004 version again which is excellent.

Well two out of three titles are worth buying. Encore ecould have rebuilt the puzzle and board games. The casino title is built a lot like the card games title, except is the color is green, All inprovements make it worth buying the casino and card games, pass on puzzle and board game title
